Project 1

Society, through the years, has been faced with a dilemma of productively teaching their students. Many philosophers and professionals have tried to accomplish this task with interpreting the situation at hand. Professor Carol Dweck, of Stanford University, believes that having a “growth mindset” instead of a “fixed mindset” is one way to improve the learning environment (Talk). Along with altering one’s mindset to expanding ideas, thinking of new ways warn to or to teach certain information that has become very important and controversial. With more discussion around human rights and issues more and more people have become offended with a multitude of different topics. It’s scary for professors to teach in a society where students can become easily offended. People need to inherit and develop more of an open mind, especially to discussion and debate on topics that offend them or disagree upon. Having a “growth mindset” will allow society and professors to obtain a healthier and more productive learning environment.
