- What big concerns did you have about your draft as you completed the first draft?
One of my biggest concerns about my draft as I was completing it was supplying enough and the correct textual evidence to support my claim. Another concern was making sure I had enough to surpass the text minimum, but, in the end, that wasn’t a problem.
- What did your peers like most about your paper? Be specific, perhaps by quoting from one (or more) of the comments on your paper. Be sure to credit your peer!
What my peers liked most about my paper were my introductions and my ability to support my views through the use of quotes and explanations. Alex mentioned I did a, “good job explaining quote and advancing your point of why safe spaces are too strict”.
- Where are you working best with Dweck? What do your peers think you can do to improve on that section? You might quote from a peer, and give credit.
I’m best with using quotes from Dweck and explaining them. I was able to productively use Dweck’s thoughts and ideas and connect them to other points. There’s nothing mentioned from my peers on how I can improve when working with Dweck.
- Where are you working best with Lukianoff/Haidt? What do your peers think you can do to improve on that section? You might quote from a peer, and give credit.
My strongpoint with Lukianoff/Haidt is using their thoughts to help support. However, I might need to, “introduce them,” more and before I use a quote from them (Alex).
- According to your peers, what are your two biggest challenges in your work with the texts? How do you think you can address those challenges in your revision? If you need quotes or “evidence,” be specific about the text you should bring into a revision. If you need stronger explanations of your Dweck-Lukianoff/Haidt or Dweck-Lukianoff/Haidt-Roth relationships, be specific about what you need to explain. (Don’t re-write the paragraphs or sections. Rather, explain what you need to do.)
According to my peers my two biggest challenges in my work with the texts are introducing authors and explaining a few quotes. I have to unpack and explain a Dweck quote further (Alex). To address this I will try to connect it more to my points and give examples.
- Using the guidance from your peers, put your overall perspective (viewpoint) into a sentence or two. How will you help your reader “get” your perspective?
In order to create a healthier and more productive learning environment students and institutions need to develop more of an open mind and have a “growth mindset.”
