Task II Oct 23

UNE’s interpretation of the liberal arts, or arts and sciences, obviously includes STEM courses as they describe liberal arts as arts and sciences and include STEM in their curriculum. Future possible college prospects may feel as though, or believe that liberal arts colleges do not incorporate STEM courses. Therefore, those prospects might turn their head at UNE if they want to take stem. One of the biggest misperceptions of liberal arts colleges is that, “One should not, in this day and age, study only the arts” (Ungar). Like previously mentioned, the liberal arts can and does include STEM courses, which is what UNE does. This is why UNE, “for the sake of clarity,” uses the term “arts and sciences” (Ungar). UNE wants to invite students and not make them fray away due to that they think it doesn’t include the sciences. UNE equally emphasizes the importance of the arts and the sciences. UNE, “embraces the ideal of the integrated curriculum, encompassing virtually all nonprofessional higher learning, from the natural and social sciences to the humanities and the performing arts” (Scheuer). As mentioned previously, the university incorporates a variety of themed course in order to develop well rounded students.

Revision:

It is critical to incorporate the arts and the sciences in at any given university or college. Students need to be able to have the ability to grow and learn in all aspects of life. Without learning a broad general knowledge then students are unable to figure out what they are skilled at and what interests them and what does not.

The difference in the second paragraph is that it goes more in depth to explaining the Ungar quotes and gives more thought about them.
